About IWS

Building the people who build the workplaces of tomorrow.

A NITA-accredited corporate training provider headquartered in Nairobi. Since 2016 we have run programmes for 12,000+ delegates across East Africa, Southern Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.

Our story

From a Nairobi training shop to a regional partner.

We started in 2016 with a simple thesis: East African operators needed technical training designed by people who had actually run the operations they were teaching, not consultants reading from a slide deck.

Nine years, 14 cities, and 12,000+ delegates later, that thesis still holds.

Our foundation

Practitioners in the room, not slide readers.

Every facilitator we put in front of a cohort has run, scaled, or audited the function they teach, typically for ten years or more.

Live virtual training cohortCohort design

Outcomes over hours.

Cohorts of 12 to 25 with breakouts, recorded sessions, and a 90-day post-programme reinforcement window built in.

In-person, virtual, or hybrid.

We run cohorts in the format that fits your team and time-zone, without diluting the calibre either way.

Our impact

Numbers we measure and audit against.

No vanity stats. Every figure below is verifiable against cohort registers, invoicing systems, or the certificates we have issued.

Our purpose

Mission and vision.

Mission

Empower the people who run African workplaces.

We design and deliver training that helps individuals, teams, and organisations build the technical skills, business systems, and leadership culture they need to compete, and stay competitive, in a market that changes every year.

Vision

A continent-wide standard for workplace excellence.

To be the partner of choice for any African organisation serious about turning its people into a measurable strategic advantage. Not the cheapest. The one that ships outcomes.

“Training only matters if it changes Monday morning. Our cohort size, post-programme support, and facilitator bench are all calibrated against that single test.”

Our journey

Nine years, eight milestones, one calendar.

From a Nairobi technical-training shop to a regional partner running programmes every working week of the year.

  1. Chapter 01

    2016

    Founded in Nairobi

Started as a specialist technical-training shop helping East African operators close skill gaps in finance, ops, and compliance.

  2. Chapter 02

    2018

    Expanded across Kenya

Open-enrolment cohorts started running in Nakuru, Mombasa, and Kisumu alongside Nairobi.

  3. Chapter 03

    2019

    Crossed into East Africa

First intakes in Kigali, Kampala, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, and Arusha. The regional footprint that still anchors our calendar.

  4. Chapter 04

    2020

    Pivoted to a holistic model

Shifted from single-topic technical courses to integrated workplace-transformation programmes built around outcomes, not hours.

  5. Chapter 05

    2021

    Into Southern Africa

Launched intakes in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Pretoria, opening a corridor that now anchors a third of our annual cohorts.

  6. Chapter 06

    2023

    Became Ideal Workplace Solutions

Rebranded to reflect the shift from training vendor to end-to-end workplace transformation partner. Consulting, advisory, and learning under one roof.

  7. Chapter 07

    2024

    Middle East & West Africa

Established operating presence in Dubai and Accra to serve clients running cross-regional cohorts.

  8. Chapter 08

    2025

    14 cities. 12,000+ alumni.

Latest cohort numbers cement IWS as a regional leader with a calendar that runs every working week of the year.

Core values

The principles that govern every cohort we run.

Customer-centricity

We start with the outcome the client needs and design the cohort, not the other way round. Standard catalogues are the exception.

Adaptability

Programmes evolve in-flight as facilitators read the room. We treat the syllabus as a hypothesis, not a contract.

Professionalism

Every facilitator we put in front of a cohort has run, scaled, or audited the function they teach, typically for ten years or more.

Integrity

We say what we measured, in the units we measured it in. No vanity stats, no padded NPS. The audit trail is the proof.

Innovation

We treat training as a product: instrumented, post-mortemed, iterated. Last year's syllabus is the starting line, not the finish.

Accountability

Every programme ships with a 90-day post-cohort review against the success measure the client set at the start. No exceptions.

Why work with IWS

What you get that you don't get elsewhere.

Expert facilitator bench

Practitioners, not professional trainers. Every facilitator has run or audited the function they teach.

Flexible delivery

In-person, online, or hybrid. We run cohorts in the format that fits your team and time-zone, without diluting either way.

Bespoke by default

Most of our work is custom-scoped against client outcomes. The open catalogue is the smaller half of what we actually run.

Proven regional reach

Operating in 14 cities across East, Southern, West Africa, and the Gulf. Same standard, every cohort.

Outcome accountability

Every programme ships with a 90-day reinforcement window and a post-cohort review against the success measure you set.

NITA + PMI + ACCA aligned

Every certificate we issue is verifiable, CV-ready, and mapped to a professional body your team already recognises.
